Do it yourself
It's not a hobby, it's a lifestyle!
Welcome to the private website of Martin Lovchik! (Some older posts are in German)
The internet offers a wealth of resources and information. What I appreciate most are the many tutorials that are being published worldwide on topics such as "how to knit socks" to "how to remove the engine from a car".This abundant information makes the life of us "do-it-yourselfers" much easier and contributes a lot to the success of our projects. For this reason, I would like to dedicate my website to this topic and hopefully, I can provide some insight that will motivate some people to pick up a spanner, hammer or even a paintbrush and make our world a more beautiful and practical place.
Following any tutorials posted on my web page is at your own risk. I do not take any responsibility for human or material damage of any kind!
Interests
Maintenance and Repair
Skills can be learned, youtube is a wealth of information and the tutorials are excellent. I have many different vehicules, a Porsche 911, a Renault van, a Vespa PX, a bicicle and an electric kickboard. This section is dedicated to different repairs, enhancements and random projects.
3D Design and Print
A few years ago, I started with 3D design and scanning, then 3 years ago I bought a Creality Ender 5 Pro 3D printer. I use Autodesk Fusion 360 for my designs. This section is dedicated to my 3D projects and learnings.
About Me
My dad was a handyman and already at a very young age, I watched him do repairs on his cars, around the house, welding my tricycle a felt hundred times (after I left it standing behind the family car again and he ran over it, again)... a great source of inspiration!
My family was not rich and not poor, but I was not raised spoilt and did not get everything I wanted just like that. I soon found out, that my dad may not buy me everything, but would always help me to build it myself. And that's how I got my first 10-gear bicycle and my super loud stereo system, the flashing disco lights in my bedroom, and at some point my first computer. (yes, QDOS stands for "quick and dirty operating system")
That is what I mean by "Do it yourself is not a hobby, but a lifestyle" in the meantime I am a scientist in the chemical industry and profit a lot from the different skills I learned throughout my life.
I profited very much from the tutorials, tips and tricks I found online. For this reason, I would like to give something back to the community. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to know more about any of the topics I present.
I speak German, English, and French.
